Facebook is releasing a series of new tools for small and medium-sized businesses to do Facebook Advertising easier. An automated Ads platform, video editing, and appointment booking capabilities.
“With over 90 million small businesses on Facebook, we’re proud to play a role in helping business of all sizes grow and create jobs,” Facebook said.
Facebook Automated Ads
These businesses will now have a tool that can automatically create up to six different variations of an ad that can run across Facebook, Messenger, Instagram and Audience Network. The tool will ask the business a series of questions about their business and their advertising goals and suggest elements like call-to-action buttons (CTA), creative details and text that is based on the business Facebook Page. For this to happen appropriately, it is going to be important that all the information on your Facebook Page be accurate and updated.
Facebook will also provide a suggested budget and targeting recommendations based on the business’s goal. The Automated Ads platform will automatically optimize the campaign to deliver the best performing ad. These advertisers will also receive performance reports on their campaigns with optimization recommendations.
Appointment Booking with Facebook
Facebook is also releasing appointment management tools for businesses on Facebook and Instagram. Potential customers can schedule an appointment to meet directly with the business or their sales representative. The online system will also send reminders to the customer via Facebook Messenger or text message. Businesses can manage appointments on their Pages directly through their Facebook Business Page. You will be able to customize your menu or services, display availability for appointments, and accept and manage appointments directly from your business page.
Video Editing Tools
Facebook is also releasing three new video editing tools. Video trimming, automatic cropping, and text overlays. This new feature allows more possibilities for advertisers and businesses with limited budgets. Facebook is increasingly making it easier to create a video with limited resources and budget.
Facebook is being redesigned around groups and events. The recently said that they would start to downplay the News Feed and after the F8 keynote speech, we now know what that means. Facebook will highlight events and groups and create a prominent groups tab with a personalized feed from the groups that you’ve joined – rather than a a general update feed from your friends. This redesign is also trying to encourage people to expand their social circles, with a new feature called, Meet New Friends. This connects strangers who having similiar employers or schools in common. The Android and iOS apps will be receiving an immediate update but the desktop site will be revealed in the coming months. The most notable change to the design is doing away with the blue bar in the mobile app.
